Joseph Smith ran for president in 1844 to get the name of the Church out more. Mitt Romney running would not be for that purpose, but it may have that effect. With the things I have heard about Mitt, I think he would be a good president. The problem could be that there are a lot of Mormon-haters out there. That is quite a shame, because Mitt could prove to be a great advocate for the causes of the religious conservatives around the country.

This major in the Marine Corps points out that civil war would result from troop withdrawal. Other countries which have made progress toward democracy would revert to older ways, and terrorists would have an uncontested staging ground from which to threaten whoever they dislike at the moment.

The stakes are high, so I hope that the public is beginning to get the message. I have seen advertisements for feature stories on two different news networks about winning Iraq.

Divine Comedy

I saw Divine Comedy on Saturday and they were great. It was the original cast members from when I was a freshman. Their show is much funnier than the current members. The show had most of the skits in the original DVD. That is some funny stuff. They can be hired to do shows. An EFY would be a great chance to use them.
