I see you have posted a picture of our likely next president. Unless McCain continues to make delightful appearances on SNL and other late night shows, thereby winning over the masses.

McCain can't even guarantee my vote. My problem with the upcoming election is that there are two reliable liberals. McCain's choice of running mate will likely determine my willingness to vote for him. He better get the masses, because Obama is the only one who can get conservatives to turn out this election. McCain's career has been made by thumbing his nose at conservatives. His number one constituency has always been the liberal media. Now the media have a secular messiah to push on us.

My gut instinct is that McCain will choose Romney as his VP, or at least somebody with similar economic experience. Really, it's his best bet to balance out the ticket, since he has admitted that he personally doesn't know too much about complicated economic issues. He's "republican-lite" and he needs somebody much further to the right to motivate the base.

There are a lot of reasons that makes sense. Intrade, last I checked, had Romney at the top of the betting pool. I wonder how long it will be before the decision is announced.
